Five for Friday

 ...Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! The PTO at our school created five gift bags with different themes to  give away to a teacher each day. I WON! I received the Dinner and a Movie gift bag that had like $135 in gift cards to restaurants and the movie theater, movie tickets, candy and popcorn! What a nice treat it was.

It's been getting hotter in NOVA and to be honest, I just hate running in anything over 70 degrees. So I've been getting up early for work and running in the morning. It isn't the best feeling rolling out of bed an hour early, but it definitely is worth it in the end. I live near a busy road, run on the sidewalks, but I am lucky enough to still see vegetation! It was really nice to sit on the sidewalk outside my townhouse and here the birds chirping, even though I could still here traffic in the background!

It is Mother's Day tomorrow...and I am one lucky mama! I cannot wait to see the project she made for me tomorrow when I finally get to open it!  I love this little girl...

...and we took a lot of tests this week, not much fun going on in the classroom...but I will finish my post with this...

Five for...FunDay...again!

...and will probably always be! Friday's just are not my sit-down-and-do-anything-related-to-school days. But I really do enjoy blogging for Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs!

 ...well my biggest accomplishment this week is not school related: I ran in my first 5K and my goal was to finish in under 30 minutes: 29:45! Just made it. I run in another one on June 8th, Run or Dye, just like the Color Run. (bib #69)

Our VA SOLs start in a couple of weeks...the first test being the Reading SOL on my BIRTHDAY! Ugh! I told the kids that if they all passed the SOL for my birthday I would reward them with a pizza party...This week we signed our 

 Stopped at a church bazaar yesterday on our way out to a favorite winery and got my hands on two wireless keyboards for my first graders next year. I have seen the ideas on Pinterest for the keyboards for a while now and finally found some!

Lovin' May...and Currently

I am SO happy that it is May. It is one of my favorite months because...

...it is my birthday...

...it is Mother's Day...

...there is a guaranteed three day weekend (Memorial Day)...

...warm weekends filled with BBQ and friends...

...IT IS MY BIRTHDAY on the 20th... I'll be 27...

...it's the month before school is out...

Yea, May is pretty awesome.
